Weaving Series - Exploring Twills

Learn to weave at the McCarl Coverlet Gallery!

Each 2.5 hour class will provide instruction on pre-warped floor looms to weave a finished cotton dish towel. Beginners are advised to start with Introduction to Weaving and Color to build skills for the next two workshops. All materials are included. Attend all 3 workshops for $10 off the total.

Exploring Twills

July 14th

Learn how to use floating salvages and weave a twill for the first time. Explore how to read a draft and start weaving different twills such as herringbone, rose path, and wall of troy. Experiment with combinations of color and pattern. 

Location: McCarl Coverlet Gallery

Price: $50 per class, or $140 for all three

Maximum class size: 5

Minimum age: 13

The workshop runs from 9:30 to 12:00, but the gallery will remain open until 4:00 p.m. Workshop participants are welcome to stay beyond 12:00 if they need more time to finish weaving their towel.
